This Allergen & Food Safety Policy outlines our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, allergen management, and regulatory compliance across our healthy frozen ready meal production and delivery service.
1. Regulatory Compliance
We operate in full accordance with UK Food Hygiene Regulations and all applicable food safety legislation. Our food production processes follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) principles to identify, monitor, and control potential hazards throughout preparation, cooking, freezing, storage, and distribution.
2. Food Safety Management
We maintain a documented Food Safety Management System that includes:
- Temperature monitoring and control
- Supplier approval procedures
- Cleaning and sanitation schedules
- Staff food hygiene training
- Traceability and batch control systems
- Corrective action procedures
Our kitchens are subject to inspection by local authority Environmental Health Officers.
3. Allergen Management
We take food allergies and intolerances extremely seriously. In compliance with UK allergen legislation, we:
- Clearly identify the 14 major allergens as defined by UK law
- Provide full ingredient listings on all products
- Highlight allergens clearly on packaging and online product pages
- Review recipes and supplier specifications regularly
4. Cross-Contamination Controls
Although we implement strict cross-contamination controls, our kitchens handle allergens including (but not limited to) nuts, peanuts, gluten, milk, eggs, soy, sesame, mustard, celery, sulphites, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, and lupin.
Controls include:
- Segregated ingredient storage
- Scheduled allergen cleaning procedures
- Staff allergen awareness training
- Controlled production processes
However, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of trace allergens.
5. Frozen Storage & Distribution
All meals are rapidly frozen and stored at -18°C or below to maintain food safety and quality. During next-day nationwide delivery, insulated packaging and temperature-control materials are used to ensure meals remain frozen in transit.
Customers are advised to:
- Place meals in a freezer immediately upon receipt
- Store at -18°C or below
- Not refreeze once defrosted
6. Cooking & Consumer Food Safety Guidance
Clear cooking instructions are provided on all packaging. Customers should:
- Cook thoroughly until piping hot
- Ensure food reaches an internal temperature of at least 75°C
- Follow all on-pack guidance carefully
Appliances may vary and cooking times are provided as guidelines only.
7. Product Traceability & Recalls
We maintain full product traceability from ingredient sourcing through to final distribution. In the unlikely event of a product recall, we have procedures in place to notify affected customers promptly and take appropriate corrective action.
8. Customer Responsibility
Customers with severe food allergies are encouraged to review ingredient and allergen information carefully prior to purchase and to contact our customer support team if further clarification is required.
